Citi Accelerates Fund Onboarding in Europe with Fenergo’s AI-Driven Compliance Engine

Date:

Citi’s Global Transfer Agency is taking a decisive step in modernizing fund servicing across Europe by integrating Fenergo’s advanced Client Lifecycle Management platform. This strategic move transforms investor onboarding and compliance by embedding automated, real-time AML and KYC checks directly into Citi’s operational framework.

The adoption of Fenergo’s technology means previously slow and manual processes will now be streamlined through intelligent automation. Investor data can be validated instantly, compliance checks run continuously, and onboarding progress tracked in real time through API integrations. For clients, this translates into faster onboarding, fewer delays, and a smoother overall experience, all while keeping pace with complex regulatory demands.

Larissa Sototskaya, Head of Citi Fund Services’ Global Transfer Agency, emphasized that Fenergo’s platform merges next-generation technology with robust regulatory insight. This combination allows Citi to provide services to funds across diverse jurisdictions and asset classes, while also granting clients immediate visibility into their compliance status and readiness.

Ruth Ormsby, Managing Director for EMEA at Fenergo, noted that the partnership reflects a growing shift in the industry toward digitization and client-first innovation. She underlined that Citi’s move aligns with Fenergo’s mission to deliver efficient investor experiences while maintaining strict adherence to global compliance standards.

This collaboration is not just a technology upgrade but part of Citi’s wider digital transformation of its Transfer Agency services. It builds on its earlier success in the UK, where Citi launched a fully digital client lifecycle management solution in 2023—an initiative that has already gained recognition across the industry.

By integrating Fenergo’s platform, Citi reinforces its position as a leader in fund services, demonstrating how global financial institutions are embracing automation and AI-driven solutions to enhance compliance, reduce risk, and deliver faster, more efficient services to clients worldwide.
